Its way down the road but its the next event and im stoked as hell cuz i havent skated since october. anyways, im driving down there if anyone wants a ride from CO

I went to Albuquerque over thanksgiving. It was awesome. I probably cant go, but have fun.

It's a kind of Skaters' Olympics, all kinds of crazy events; arroyo-racing (ditch-racing) in a bunch of different flood-control channels, a terrifyingly steep mountain road race, slalom races, a crosstown race, all good, crazy fun. Totally illegal, of course, but (thank God) Albuquerque has got the most laid-back cops you'll ever see.

The Ditch Slap happens every spring in Albuquerque, NM, the Ditch Capital of America. Check it out: YouTube - Ditch Slap 08

P.S.~ Getting "ditch-slapped" is 'Burque slang for eating sh*t at high speed while skating waaay too fast down an arroyo...preferably while hot girls are watching, of course. Heh.

I remember hearing its only 6-8 hours away. It would be great to get as much people for CO down there for it! We have to support out local races and organizations so that they will want to produce more for us!

It was a boring as hell drive when I went, about 6.5-7 hours from Arvada. But the ditches are totally worth it...

First day I was there it was raining, so I hit up a pretty nice 6 story garage that was right next door to my hotel. Next day the ditches were clear of water.

If theres room and I'm not busy, I would love to go to Querque again.

ya its 6. I live closer to new mexico than all you denver guys so if we all get together we should just park at this park n' ride in my town and then ill drive. i can only fit five people however so we will need to get around that.

bring a helmet and gloves and try to save up for some knee pads and you're set. there may be some downhill going on though so try to get some leathers.

GO TO DITCHSLAP! SICKEST #### EVER! and getting ditchslapped actually is slang down here for eating it hard, cuz first, you do all your standard wipe out stuff, like falling, and slaiding to a stop, then you roll down the rest of the wall. it's actually really fun though.

thats the event. but it only takes 6 hours to get downthere so im guessing if we left at a decent time wed be down there by 11pm

Yall should come! it's early to make plans but if anyone is coming to ditch slap from out o town i'm giving up my entire house so fools can crash for free. I heard about it two years ago when i started skating but haven't seen it yet. But not 2009! this is my year!

Come skate our ditches and be amazed

ps. a ditch slap is any fall where you are up on the side of the ditch, you fall then have to roll to the bottom.
