Pictures in PM

Why cant we send Pics in PM. i bought some wheels from a guy and want to send him pics of his set up, but not was thread space, or have people post on it. i just want him to see it. i think this will make the fiends thing work better to because you can send Pics back and forth that way too. for instance i just had a friend join, but he doesn't have an avatar yet. i have to post the avatar pic on a thread and hope he reads it. why cant i just send it to him.

Just tested it, and you definitely can send images in a PM. Sent the message to you, actually.
I'm not sure if you can upload them to the server from a PM message body, but you should just use photobucket anyway.

i guess i could upload and re-organize all 3000 pic onto photobucket, or we could figure up a way to upload one at a time, when i need them, here for an email.

you can put pics in a PM just like any post

just use the normal coding:

Wrong.
You do it just like you're saying you would here... One at a time as you need them..
If you really must do it on SF: 1. open any random thread and hit reply 2. upload the pic 3. open it up 4. go to properties and copy the address 5. [img] url [/ img]
I just don't see any reason to do it that way, just put in on PB - just as fast.

i know you can jerry rig it, but i would like to see a real way, through the fish, so i don't have to frivolously post, or put my pics on the open internet.

i do understand that it isnt necessary, but would be a nice upgrade.

i dont like using flicker and photobucket because every time i have a new photo, i would have to import to iPhoto, and that program. so it would go from my camera to iPhoto, then i edit, then it moves to my desktop at a new folder just for the uploading, then to the internet, then into another folder there where i have to organize again. twice as much work, that i dont really want to dedicate just so i can PM a pic or two.

i know you guys are just trying to help. and thanks, but i really dont want to have to do all that. ten minutes of work for a joke, or a quick glance worth 10 second to a friend?. i wish that we could just upload into the PM, like in a Thread.

One thing, If you are uploading from iphoto its REALLY easy. You don't have to put it on the desktop at all.

When you are browsing your items in the upload window, you have the sidebaron the left like you have normally in finder. At the bottom of that sidebar there is a section for media, one icon is for pictures. if you click on that thumbnails of all you albums in Iphoto apear and you can then scroll though you pictures and choose the one you want.

It takes like two seconds

Having people to either publicly provide the image themselves or attach it publicly helps to reduce the chance or a an underage board pr0n ring springing up on silverfish.

We will not be having images being attached to PM's.

You`re really making it complicated

With Flickr uploader installed, I just right-click on the pic where it`s stored, and hit the "send to flickr" option, 20 seconds later it`s up and I can copy the url to use in the PM.
No need to over-organize every photo is it?
