seperate sections for "WTT" and "WTS"

i was just on skullandbonesskateboards.com and they have separate sections for people wanting to sell and wanting to trade. since a lot of us have extra gear laying around for trade, i think we could make it easier and clean some things up by having a separate forum for that purpose.

I'd like separate sections for WTS/WTT and WTB a lot more. Most of the time, ime, those WTT are also WTS.

Only problem I see with that is that no one would wanna go to the WTB section.

A filter depends on how people list.

yes, trades and sales should be separate, that would be nice. i feel like auctions are better run in threads themselves, but that's another shabang.
people should also assume that trades are not allowed for a sale unless otherwise stated by the seller

I am kind of for...and kind of against. My biggest concern being on the moderator side of things is making sure people don't keep bumping their old ads, and having 2 sections is even more work than necessary to keep that from happening. However, with that concern being said, everyone else does have a valid point.

the only bad thing i see with auctions right now is that they get lost once they go by the front page. ( auctions need to be viewed actively to be efficient...)

Yea I have to be honest I have never used it, and now that I am wandering around in it I am finding a bunch of issues.

How long do you think ads should stay active?

2 months?

probably less than that. if you set them up for a week interval, and if they dont sell make it so they have to go and make the ad again. that way you eliminate all those oooooold ads that recur themselves and are pointless.

I agree.
it is hard to believe in an older ad. 2 weeks tops.
if it doesn't sell reliist at a lower price.

I know what you guys are suggesting I just would choose to change to a less restrictive timetable then if that doesn't work break it down to a shorter time.

At this point the longest time is 1 month and you can no longer auto re-list.

Still working on the search bit.
