Pos and Neg rep balance?

I had gotten both a positive and a negative rep from one post and the user who had neg repped me had higher rep power and points than the user who had given me positive rep and my rep points went closer to zero instead of farther in the zero's (I'm in the red, as you may have already noticed) May one of the Admins, users, moderators explain?

I'm kind of confused, but if you neg rep someone it negs them only half of what your rep is. IE if your rep is 100 and you give a person neg rep, they only lose -50 pts.

Hello

This is because when you neg-rep it only count half their rep power. So ig someone have 30 rep-power you get 15 neg-rep. Guess that is the case.
