PM Inbox is empty

I had quite a few messages in my inbox (only about 30% full) and now they are all gone. I did not delete them.

Are they automatically deleted monthly?

mine stay there forever, you must have deleted them by accident.

Only thing I can think of is that I must of had the "boxes" highlighted and inadvertantly used my wheel to scrool down the page, not realizing I scrolled the selections to delete. Otherwise, I rarely touched it since I am new and didn't have that much yet.
