With silverfish switching servers it seems this isnt 'da fish' that I've become fond of. Yeah sure there are still pretty much the same things but it's the little things that make people love the fish. Many of the familiar old members seem to have disappeared and the format just totally weirds me out. It's not the fish I fell in love with, lets face it: it seems like things have declined in the last three months. Posts got less interesting, A few more new a$$holes (not that every newbie is an a$$), ect. I guess this is pretty much my official goodbye to silverfish. Sure I'll visit once in awile but its over for me. The new server is a good start for a new generation of Silverfishers, one that just doesnt not involvolve me.

I left for a little while because the posts were getting really repetative. It seems like it has been getting a little better lately. I did like it a lot more when everyone made really helpful posts and everyone was basically a regular. Oh well things change.

Yea sometimes it seems that everything worth saying has already been said (ususally by Mile High Mark). I've gotten to where I don't post to often, but I still read what I can. I still find usefull stuff that I missed with the search function. The new board is definately slower though. Makes me think I'm on dial up when I acctually have cable. I'd leave too if I was on dial up.

Seems every forum I've ever been on has one or two "I'm leaving" posts, and untill now SF was the exception, atleast to my knowledge. The problem with these threads is that even though you are "leaving" and "never returning" people still think it important to let us know that they are leaving just so we'd all remember to miss them. The internet is the home of self-centered me-ism.

Sucks that you're leaving brother, I always felt the best way to deal with a problem similair to yours was to change the things that were bothering me, make a difference if you could. I understand some people don't like the new interface, but in actuality its a freakin TRIVIAL change and the cool people (and yeah the lame ones too) are all still here making good and bad contributions to the community daily.

The secret to dealing with forum entropy is to just post random crap that really doesn't affect the outcome of the thread all the time. That way you get lots of posts notched under your name and for some reason people tend to feel your opinion holds more sway. That way when something about the forum bother you you can use that sway to hold cyber-walkouts and protests. Don't ask me why, lord knows I've never had anything intelligent to say.

I use this forum as a way to vent, learn, and just be a general asshat (my fave). As long as the admins keep things running, don't let things get out of hand, and take an unbiased all skate attitude I think things will be pretty groovy around here for a while.

two ways i see to deal with your problem : either go, and come back in search of knowledge occassionally, or just stay and post junk!
