Not sure, Dave. I run the most updated FireFox I can, and it's fine with the flashchat. Have you verified that you've got the Flash module installed to your Firefox?

are you using the 32bit version of linux? or the 64bit?
the support for the 64 is a macromedia issue.
there are ways to get it running though. i'd post
more, but i'd need to know how comfortable you
are with linux administration.

Similar problem here using Konqueror in Kubuntu - the Flash Chat just gives me a blank page.
I've no problem using flash in other sites as long as the site doesn't require Flash v8 (there isn't a v8 for Linux). What version of Flash is required?

it's huge issue right now with no flash8 support for linux. the 8.5 release was suppose to solve this, but it has not. most hardcore admins are using virtual machines [codeweavers, wine, etc.] to get it going.
it looks like the version of FlashChat that Silverfish is using requires "flashplayer 7 or higher". unless the
website gurus have changed something, that's all i know. it "should" be working for you.
have you tried it without konqueror? i would never tell someone to ditch their favorite browser, but have you tried it with firefox and it's flash modules installed?

i was fooling with this again today to no avail. to answer, yes the module is installed in firefox and in konqueror. I am also getting the blank page. I feel very comfortable administering (or trying to anyway) linux. I am running the 32 bit version of kubuntu 6.06 on an amd 1300 w/512 megs of ram and 33 gigs of hd space.
running knoppix 3.9 on the same box and installing flash to fox and konqueror works fine, or did last time i tried. just a bitch reloading flash everytime i reboot so i decided to install kubuntu. of course things have changed at the fish since then as well as the software in Kubuntu being different(newer) than knoppix . ill give it some time, see if any future updates solve the problem. im gonna try with knoppix again tonite and see what happens.

if not, back up your /etc/apt/sources.list somewhere safe, and name it "sourcesOLD.list"
