agreed, usually i search a topic before posting a new one since i can get the answer quicker that way anyway, but also theres added incentive to search since if you post a thread thats been done before you will get flamed with not much chance at useful answers
unfortunately all this flaming ends up with searching and finding nothing but flaming. I find a good approach to be a combination of the 2. Answer the question and inform them to search at the same time. This helps silverfishes usefulness and teaches the noobs.
A lot of writers were taken from the Simpsons to do Futurama, explaining the last few seasons of terribly shite Simpsons episodes. I guess I gotta go watch some Futurama and really figure this out.
i havent been on SF for long but seen a fair share of trolling/negativity in various threads dont u guys have some kind of rule for this?
enforcing good fellowship would be something that should be taken under consideration, which will improve the site overall and positively.

Excessive/repeated trolling. Failure to maintain overall good fellowship/camaraderie, AND/OR if you are consistently unpleasant to other members of the forum, AND/OR constant negativity.
im a mod for different forum that houses about 80,000 active members a day, i usually throw 3-4 bans out to constant trolls. if they cant figure out why their getting constantly banned i forwarded it to a higher mod that than enforces month bans

You must understand that for some, internet = life.
Idiots who constantly post garbage to others are usually the losers in real life... the only place that they can have a chance at a good image and reputation is an online forum.
Don't stress about it, there will always be idiots.
