If you haven't checked out the Ian Tilmann Foundation, I suggest doing so.

I called up Marcy (the President & Founder) today. I'm going to volunteer in their events when I can. They are based only a few hours drive from here. I actually been all over that area.

It really struck me deep to hear her cause.

I'm making flyers tonight and taking them to the local skateshops when I can.

You have hard foam and soft foam. It depends on what you ride. If you go fast, get a high impact helmet. If not, get one that will take more that 1 hit.

I'd say go to a store and try them on if possible. Find the fitting helmet and see which one you like. As long as it has hard foam (cpcs [?] certified), I think any helmet would be useable. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, as long as it's properly certified, you really only need to worry about how it fits. Which is the part I'm having problems with. The L/XL Protec Ace SXP looks like it sits ON my head rather than around it, if that makes any sense. Doesn't look as though it would do it's job in the case of a fall, where as the 2-stage fit my head better for whatever reason.

I want to try a B2 or T8 CPSC helmet but can't find any around to try. Boo.
