    Default Bellistic vs. drop

Is there any real reason to get a bell drop over the bellistic? A local store is sending over a bellistic in large for me to try on, and if I like it should I still have them order me a drop? Or should I just grab the bellistic and go fast.

    I like my bellistic.

I really don't notice the difference.

I clicked on it when i was looking for a helmet, closed it, came back to show my dad, and clicked on the drop on accident because they look identical.

Never tried on a bellistic, but I love my drop.

Feels so solid, so comfy, and they look great. Awesome field of vision, decent enough ventilation, reasonably aero.

let me put it this way the ballistic is a "entry level" bicycle full face, the drop isnt. so basically the drop was designed by bell to be a better helmet at the expense of cost. The bellistic also lacks some sort of downhill mountian bike safety certification and has a chin strap that is frustrating to adjust (believe me i own one) and the drop has a more effective one. Also the drop feature a more aerodynamic profile. In the world of safety equipment you get what you pay for (be careful about those expensive para gliding helmets though). so try out the drop. If the bell sizing system doesn't fit you give the giro remedy a shot.

Bull crap maybe to the untrained eye it does. The bellistic looks basically like a road biking helmet with an added on chin piece up close, the drop is much sleeker in design.

Had the bellistic, didnt like it, and got the drop. Drop is better in comfort, safety, and appearance.
This is Silverfish, take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to come back to at the end of the day, but nothing beats the real deal. Make your own judgments and form your own opinions. Remember whose lens you're looking through!

Definitely 95% as aero as the charly.

so all votes go to dropping the extra coin on the drop?

edit: the bellistic really does look like a bicycle helmet with a chin guard.

Bellistic has more vents in the top and looks like a road bike helmet with a face guard added. The drop looks much slicker IMO.

pretty much done. Took some intense mods and recycling of parts.

I removed the inserts for the visor and re implanted them where the visor fits best.

I still need to drill two tiny holes for the charly locking mechanism, and then all should be perfect!

definitely need some auto trim to seal the deal.

can anyone tell me if they've taken a super hard head cracker with a drop on? I'm just not sold on these bike helmets until I hear it from the horses mouth. Right now I'm wearing a motox helmet and just not comfortable with the smaller, lighter helmets as I've ht my hear HARD with the motox and walked away fine........except for the whiplash.......which is the problem with the motox helmets.

just to note: Alpha has me interested in an afx but I'm not sold on that either.

There's a lot of people with drops out there. I'm sure if they were truly unsafe we'd have heard by now.
