    I'm not saying.

My goal in this was to spark a flame with some of the more innovative/visionary longboard companies out there. If they like it and see that we all like it and make something like this readily available to the masses then they will be priceless.

Most comfortable slide glove I've tried on. And I've tried them all on.

This is the result of my lush gloves biting the dust after many moons.

The slide glove "industry" will never take off.
Why? Because I have yet to ride with gloves better than the ones I made for $20.
Loaded, Mudslide, Timeline, Sector 9 are all meh IMO.

I ask because personally, I'm not gonna spend more than $20 on slide gloves, and i prefer to make my own. I'd say that most people probably wouldn't spend more than $50 on slide gloves, so it would be hard to do what you ask and make them affordable.

EXACTLY. The 'Meh' factor must end. What were your gloves like?

Not everybody will want to spend a lot, but there are lots of slide gloves (Timeship, Triple eight, Lush...) that already cost 50+bucks that people buy. I get that they won't be easy to make affordable, but in reality even these Oakley gloves didn't cost sh1t to manufacture. There could be a way to figure something out.

$25 to $80, depending on what website you go to. For that price, you might as well buy pre-made gloves.

Sure they're nice, but I don't want to pay 70 bucks for a glove that I am going to murder with my sweat and mistakes and have it done within a year. Looks sick but there are other gloves that I can get that I do not mind shredding up.

I find it SO odd that longboarders in general have no problem geeking out over 'teh coolest' gear available the fastest, the lightest the widest, most narrow for that matter...

....except when it comes to bearings - and pads.

I think the real 'trick' here is to offer something other than 'just a glove' afterall all of those fashion conscious companies offer nothing other that a way to keep a puck on and the pavement off yer hand.
Why not take a wrist guard that already has a reputation as being the absolute best and incorporating a well thought out puck attachment? An articulating pivot point - allowing the surface angle of the puck to adjust according the angle at which your arm is pushing against the ground, for example.

Most of us here, I think want the best trucks the best wheels, no reason we shouldn't want the best protective gear.

    I LOL'd.

    10LOL's.

Anyway. I bought some Stanley work gloves, free corian samples, gorilla glue, and industrial velcro. Total was twenty bucks. They've held together well. I will invest into slide pucks cause the corian samples I feel are too small for my palm, but still I'd get out under thirty bucks. No point in buying sixty dollar gloves, slide pucks, then making it yourself. Expensive, and utlimately pointless because somewhere down the road your gloves will need to be replaced.

Although I will admit, those exhaust holes for letting your hand breathe is pretty nice. If I could get a pair for twenty bucks I'd buy 'em.

Just out of curiosity, how is 40 half of 50? He proposed a good glove, because even those can be made in China for $1.32. I don't mind having protection for the fingers and knuckles, I tore open one of my gloves once and still have a scar.

When I was in the military we used to get issued those Oakley gloves for deployment. Of course they didn't have those pucks on the palms lol. I liked them and you could punch through dry wall with those carbon knuckles but I would never buy gloves that expensive. Especially not for skating, when I can make a nice set. I bought a pair of Mechanix with rubber knuckle protection and put velcro and pucks on. I think the whole thing cost me $35. They look nicer than the standard construction gloves and work well. It's your money though. Do what you want.

im not tryin to bash you or anything but theoretically couldnt you just poke holes into your glove with a sewing need or something so your can hand can "breath"?

disregarding the fact that you bought 80 dollar gloves, then paid someone to sew velcro on, then bought slide pucks, so i'm guessing in total probably around 100 dollars for your gloves (i made gloves for 8 dollars) i think the palm pucks are in a poor location, and i would move them if i were you.
