This is a sad day for the Swedish longboarding scene, this afternoon at 17:26 local time a fellow skater passed away.
Oskar, or Roofy as his nick was on this and other forums passed away due to severe head trauma.
He was on a routine run, going to pick up his daughter from gym class on a sweet sunday afternoon when he lost control of his board, fell and hit his head. He was not wearing a helmet, a thing I think most of us don't do on those everyday commutes. . .
He was a devout boarder, and generally a great guy!!
Oskar was 21 years old and an experienced skater and freeboarder.
My thoughts goes out to his family and those close to him!!
And people, again, for gods sake, wear a lid!!!!

Everyone has lapses in judgement from time to time. Saying that if you dont wear your helmet means you want to die is not true. Have some civility and respect. Perhaps offer your condolences to his family instead of calling him a dumbass. Just have some decency when commenting in such a thread. Youre 43 you should know better than this by now.

Damnit... hate it that people die from something that could've been prevented. I too must admit that I miss out on wearing a helmet now and then. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Dood was sooo smooth, talent and flow was better than most all I've seen!!! His daughter suffers.. my prayers work towards her.

I just see a good skater having fun....that video actually brightened my morning. Let's get real, though, I rarely see skaters wearing helmets where I skate. I guess I gotta get more serious about givin my fellow skaters sshit for not wearing a lid. I don't like wearing helmets, they are hot and dorky, etc. But, I will wear one, and I do wear one, I got lots more skatin to do. Hopefully this young man is ridin his board up in heaven, my condolances to the family.
