Hey-o.
I'm in the market for a set of leathers, and I noticed these on ebay.
Can anyone relate any past experience with cordura? I don't really know what it is, other than it doesn't slow you down as well as leather when you fall.
Think these would be safe enough for doing some basic DH?

Cordura is a rugged fabric. For the most part it will only protect you for one fall. I.E. the second time you will prob lose skin. It is used in a lot of light-duty motorcycle apparel, as it is lighter, cooler and cheaper. Your avg motorcycle dude does not fall as much as we do. The ones that do (racers) wear full leather.
That suit looks a bit suspect. Then again, I'm a negative person. I'd prob keep trying for a used set of leathers. I got mine for $225 on craigslist.
That's the conclusion I came to. Then I looked up where the cordura was, and it says it's only mixed in with the kevlar stretch panels. Do you think that would be alright, or should I keep looking?

I'm with you. That suit looks a little cheesy. I'd be suspect of anything that cheap which is suppossed to save your skin falling at high speed. I think the advice above is good. Keep looking for a used suit.............and craigs helper is a really good place as it'll show you everything in the entire country. I got Kangaroo Leather for 200$..been wearing it for over a year, falling repeatedly, and it's still kickin.....
it looks kinda sketchy to me, you dont want to cut corners on safety. Any extra money towards something better quality is worth it if it keeps you riding and walking for that matter haha

Hey man,
I just ordered leathers through leather-shop.biz fully custom down to the colors and where you want kevlar and padding for $420 shipped to Hawaii. the guy ron really wants you to get a good product and makes sure of this. check it out. downfall is its take up to 4 weeks to get them but i think its well worth something that fits right and is full leather. it will save you in the long run. hope this helps.
It's not the wait. I have all the time in the world. It's the money...
if you got the time then wait till you got the $420. I'll let you know how they fit when i get them. but im thinking it'll be worth the wait in the long run like i already said.
