where to get good size corian for gloves

have been to both home depot and menards...only corian I see is 2x2 (too small), or way too big/weird shapes. The stuff I have right now that works AMAZING is probably about 3x2. Gloves were given to me in a race so I don't know where the corian originated from, but would love to get my hands on something similar.

Thoughts?

Find a shop that does corian counter tops, ask for a sink cut out or grab one out of the dumpster and cut your own. I cut mine with a 3" hole saw.

i got mine at home depot , there about the size of a loaded puck without the corners cut off. they were display peices velcroed to a wall , and i just pulled 4 off , and walked out.

I have been getting the shaft from the local home depots/lowes lately.
I had to break off a little plastic clip on the end of a display and slide a couple tiles out. I only took two (idiot).
The store i took those ones from is all the way across town. The stores near me all have gnarly metal displays.
Now I know what it was like when the buffalo starting disappearing.
Keep looking...it's worth it.

Corian Samples

I realized it dosn't worth to steal samples when you can get a nice set of pucks for 10-15 bucks.

yea but at 32 years old I will look dumb stealing a 2 dollar corian sample.

Last time I was at lowes they gave me a color chart instead of samples,but they told me to decide wich colors I wanted and gave me a phone number to call and they will send me free samples in he mail od all the diferent brands Corian, staron and some other brand. But i just tossed the info as soon I walked out of the store

if you search around online theres places to order samoles, just make sure you order a variety or they will be suspicious. last year i got 48 4"x4" peices. (24 colors two of each). so far i went through 2 sets.

Yea at a local Home Depot they check out every puck now,they get your name and phone number and amount of samples.Of course I give false info last time I was there

but I still felt guilty.No need to do that again I just got 2 sets of Darkspeed pucs today,to bad its raining out there

lol trick is to find someone who looks like they don't give a ****... i found a dude and was like can i get some corian samples? hes like okay, unlocks a drawer (a heavenly light radiated out) and there was all the tiles i could dream of. I took like 20 of em... no stealing or anything =]

If you are young enough, do the innocent kid look and say " Im working on a school project... " worked for me. enough for 2 sets of gloves, and extra palms.

U guys don't have $12 to buy Blackvelvetslidepucks ? OK, then use corian and watch little pieces, shards, fly into your eye. Then your friends will call you Dead Eye, when you look the lazy eye. Go mow the neighbors lawn for $12 and work an hour.

i suggest getting a 5 dollar plastic cutting board instead. you can make 2 puck for sure. you can decide the shape and size, the slide is far smoother, less noise (though who cares), less weight. all you need is an ordinary hacksaw, the blade goes through like butter so cutting is no problem.
cutting board probably wont last as long though. but by then you should be getting some black velvet or darkspeed pucks anyways. its like they dont go away
