    Default helmet question

im getting into dh and my mom wants to get me a full face because she is worried about me. were on a budget but my mom will drop some cash as long as she knows im safe. im trying to decide weather to get a quality helmet for like $200? or should i just get like a cheap bellistic or giro remedy. im only gonna be going around 35-40mphso im not scared of the bellistic not protecting me i just dont want to buy it and then fall once and have to replace it over and over again. also any helmet suggestions would be great. btw ive been searching for a few hours now and ive found a lot of stuff but there seems to be a disagreement as to weather to get an expensive helmet or a cheap one.

Get a Giro Remedy or something of that sort. If you are just starting out you are gunna gribble a lot...meaning you are going to fall and more of a chance of hitting your head. You hit your head you are probably going to lose the integrity of the helmet to were it is no good anymore, ie. you will have to replace it.

I had a Giro Remedy as my first fullface. Its a good helmet. I have since moved up to a Charly No Limit...more aero, more money, less protection.

    Giro Remedy- $120ish
    Charly No Limit- $350ish

I think its a pretty easy decision.

motorcycle helmets have the best protection, but you don't wanna get one of those. Bell drop is my personal favorite. im in the process of getting one myself.
