    Default Seasonal Changes = Safety Compromises!?

    Was just wondering if anyone changed up their safety gear depending on whether it was cold outside or blazing hot outside? Like wear pads in the winter that you wouldn't in the summer because it's so hot out?

    I'm scared to see if people do this with helmets as well

    longer clothes in winter usually results in less road rash, and less clothes too. but i generally stick with the glove, knee pad, and helmet getup regardless of weather.

    the only thing really affected by the weather is my setup; wheels n bearings u know?

    eh, i just sweat my balls off when its hot. i always wear this set of motox pants knee pads helmet and gloves no matter what. when it's cold, well it is never cold here. ill throw a way thin beanie under my helmet for my ears and throw on a flannel or sweatshirt and that's about it.

    I hate wearing knee pads over jeans so I don't a lot of times. This resulted in a sort of hurt knee on Sunday.

    I'm getting kneepads for christmas to save my knees and to have a vice when rolling down the street. I'm concerned that it's really going to be uncomfortable to wear over or under jeans but I'll prob wear them all the time in the summer.

    Winter = less road rash

    screw jeans, get some shorts and long socks to keep you warm and toss the knee pads under the shorts. i refuse to ride in jeans.

    I've actually done that before and it works really well. Only I use Under Armor or long johns instead of long socks.

    In socal, most never wear pads or anything, just shorts and teeshirts, but when winter rolls around, we bust out the leathers. Early morning sessions are fcking cold.
