Default Black Velvet or Phat Deanz

Gotta make some new gloves soon, I dunno what pucks to order though.

I dont have experience with either, hopefully someone can help me out.

Which ones wear the slowest and slide the fastest?

They are extremely similar pucks and the difference should be minis-cal.
Phat - Use a recycled product which they claim is faster than pure
Black - Use a pure product which...
Both are decent well priced pucks.

But real answer is mudslides man, check them out!

It all depends on what application you want them for.

Hard wheeled tech sliding? Mudslide mudstones delrinAF. SUPER FAST slide and slow wear.

Soft wheeled DH or freeriding? UHMWPE, so any of mudslide greenhorns, black velvet or fat deans. I use mudslides myself, lovely!

To set the record straight. I DO NOT use a recycled product and I never personally made a claim that my pucks are faster than any other. The only claim I make is that I provide a quality product, at a reasonable price, with quick service, and there is no hidden costs in shipping charges if you reside in the lower 48. When I say 12$ for a set of palm pucks that's exactly what you pay to get them to your door. I also guarentee that you can get palm pucks from me 100% of the time. There will be no selling out and no wait times. I can't guarentee that with finger pucks but I'm currently working on increasing my availablity of those also.

You guys need to understand that the "reprocessed" UHMW comes in black with some degree of speckles in it from the different colors being blended in. What I use is what you refer to as "pure" product.

Just to note, when I make mention that repro uhmw is black I am in no way insinuating that Ivan (BV) is using repro. We both use OEM product to make our pucks and we both produce a quality product.

Don't forget about Darkspeeds. A friend of mine's been using his set hard for over a year and they're still good.

MUDSLIDE pucks FTW! One you go mudslide, you'll never go...well you'll stay with mudlside. Theyre money. My greenhorns were/are great pucks to learn all sorts of sliding on. My blacktops are sick fast sliders for racing/tech sliding. You just cant really go wrong wiht mudslide. IF i ever kill either set of pucks im picking up some mudstones which will rock my socks clean off im betting. Hell, i might just pick a set up for no reason!

    Get Mudslide!

Again to keep it on the up and up, Rod, the ones I sent you came from a batch that were made from the wrong material. They sent me 5/8 inch instead of the 1/2 inch I ordered. All of the pucks I'm shipping now are 1/2 inch UHMW. It's the same thickness as everyone elses pucks. It's become the standard in the industry.

I've used both and I can tell you that Black Velvets just get absolutely murked in gritty parking garages. My friends' cutting board has been WAY more resilient then BV's. I got my Phat Deanz for Christmas and I've yet to run them through the MSU Garage Wringer so I'll report back when I get back.

even at a slightly thinner size ( should be at the 1/2 inch roughly now) they slide quite nicely
