    Default SUPER STYRENE 4 Visors

anybody ever used this stuff to make a visor with. I found some sheets of this in the art store and was able to make some great looking visors for my helmet. I was able to just cut and fit it into my the lining of my helmet and this worked so much better for me than heating and molding polycarbonate. It's a similar material, just seems a little flexier. The visor works great, just a little worried from a safety standpoint how it would react in a crash. It doesn't seem like it would shatter. Any knowledge or experience anyone can share is welcome.

polystyrene = poor abrasion resistance, poor structural quality.

I have used styrene sheets for product prototyping and I could tear a sheet in half by hand. PETG would be a better choice but still sh*t.
the reason people use PC is because its shatter and abrasion resistant qualities are good.
get/make a good vacuum former, learn to drape it well and try PC then. it gets a lot easier
