Helmets: Safety First, Comfort Second
I'm looking for helmet reccomendations. Specifically fullfaces. Anything up to $150, or if it's from 661, anything up to $210.
I'd like it to be safe, with good visibility, and with vents. (I know vents slow you down, but in the NM summer, vent's help keep you conscious.)
I used to have a Bell Bellistic, but I'm looking for something a little more robust.
I've been checking out Giro Remedys, and Bell Drops, as both seem very popular. It seems this is because they're both safe, and have good visibility.
The 661 Flight II Hybred also caught my eye. It seems like it might extend a little far for good visibility in a low tuck though. Anyone have expierance with it? Any other 661 fullfaces?
I've considered Skyrunners, and No Limits, but they feel a little "light" to me... (Also, a little pricey.)
A face shield is a plus, if the helmet comes with one...
Thanks for reading.

Re: Helmets: Safety First, Comfort Second
i definitely recommend the bell drop. i've used motorcycle helmets before and yeah they're probably your safest helmets but they're heavy and in terms of vision compared to the other helmets out there they aren't good.
you can easily make your own visor out of polycarb there are plenty of threads out there with instructions how. i was lucky enough to find a cheap visor for my drop that fit almost close to perfect.
the bell drop is light and vision is perfect. obviously the charly and icaro helmets are even lighter and have better vision but i dont think spending so much money on a helmet that is not as safe is my thing. the foam on the charly is too thin for my liking.
i've tried on the 661 fullcomp it was light but the vision is not as good as the bell drop in my opinion.

I do sell the visors seperate but be aware it requires you to pull and reinstall the hard foam.
$25.00 for clear
$35.00 for smoke
If interested I can send you the instructions and see if it something you want to tackle.

There are other sites, and I've seen some of these helmits with a nice zombie graphic on them.
Performance Bicycle - Bikes, bike accessories, bike gear, cycling equipment, cycling apparel, and more
Look under brand Giro. It's the Remedy DH helmit.

Re: Helmets: Safety First, Comfort Second
I can put a good word in for the giro remedy (mines got the zombays). It's nice and light with good vision and it feels less fragile than the paragliding helmets like icaro and such. don't get me wrong there great to just more expensive.

Re: Helmets: Safety First, Comfort Second
not too sure neuros. i asked the guy at the store the exact same question but he didn't know. he just said it was a replacement visor for helmets which im guessing is right cause it only came in a plastic bag. it's most probably made locally so far I haven't found any other places that distribute it other than that specific store.
