Wear a fcuking helmet
Just heard that a friend of mine was longboarding at low speeds, fell, smacked his head and started seizuring. He's now in the hospital.. thought this was a good reminder to everyone that at any speed you should wear a helmet!

Agreed. Yesterday i was trying to make this steep down hill turn, i didnt make it. I was far off and sand was everywhere. I crashed did like a flip landed on my head for a sec then landed on my shoulder. Now i have bruises on my left thigh and a scrape on my left elbow. Now if i didnt have my helmet.... Whos knows what could have happened

Re: Wear a fcuking helmet
become like a dog and his collar, just wear it every time, you will soon forget it is on there, it will eventually feel weird not having it on - just like old Rover's collar

Definitely, I have 4 concussions from lacrosse, another one could mean serious problems...head injuries are nothing to mess with. Grab a lid and use it!

Re: Wear a fcuking helmet
My friends say you can always prepare for the unexpected no matter what the situation is, so they don't wear helmets. But with logic like that, I suppose there's not much to protect.
I'll wear a helmet always, even at low speeds, because of this!
And I'll let my friends know about it too, some are a little smarter than the others though...

Isn't that what wearing a helmet is- preparing for the unexpected?

Cracked the liner in this DOT certified helmit. Had moderate to severe concussion. My friend Bombsquad had to drive me home that day. Had a headache for two days and short term memory loss wich is finally better. Traumatic brain injury is scarry. More so than a broken bone or road rash. http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...ed-cracked.jpg

First time I've ever seen nipplerash. Yeah, I always wear my brainsaver helmet, but I feel like I should invest in one with cpsc lining.

Well they think you don't need a helmet, because you can prepare no matter what.
I know it's flawed logic, and maybe these stories will help them come to their senses too

Re: Wear a fcuking helmet
Helmets = Brains, just that simple.
Smacked my head enough times to be very, very thankful for helmets.

That is, without doubt, the least logical thing I have heard all week.

If that logic were true, wouldnt there be no need for the invention of the helmet in the first place? As well as no record at all of skate boarders having head injuries?
I was hit head on by another skater charging down the hill as I was walking up at about 35mph about a year ago. Our heads collided, we were both wearing full face helmets. I took almost the entire force in the helmet collision, and was knocked out entirely. I got up after about a half a minute, and didnt know what was going on. This is a situation no one at the race fore-saw, and in the few seconds before collision there was nothing I could do to prevent it, we dodged each other in the same direction. I still dont really remember what happened, but had I had not been wearing my helmet I probably would not be able to type this up.
Skaters gonna skate.
