Full face and Half shell Helmet Sizes

Are the sizes about the same? I have an extra large Triple8 half shell (The one with the integrated headphones) and I'm feeling that this isn't enough protection and I'm not risking my jaw if I do fall on my head. But I have never gone to a motorcycle shop (I'm 16, a skater - what business do I have in a motorcycle shop? Where else do they sell full faces by the way?) I'm on the verge of either depending on JensonUSA or doing craiglist meetups for one. But most sizes I see are M or L. I want to make sure that it'll fit comfortably. Any recommendations on good looking budget full faces? Thanks guys!

Try seeing if anyone with a bike around you will let you try on there helmet. trust me If there a true biker there going to have more then one helmet.

Don't different helmet/brands have different sizes? I'm most interested in the Bell Drop as of now and I'm pretty worried that I'm going to have to sell the Drop if it doesn't fit me.
