want to know if anyone has idea for riding at night

I live a boarding school and my only time to ride is after five and beacause it is winter is pitch black a so how do i ride so people can me I and i can see the pot hole

Same as bicyclists, wear reflectors or little flashing lights so that cars know you're there.

For potholes, you just gotta know where they are. Though a headlamp is a neat idea too.

I've strapped a headlight under my nose right in front of my trucks before. It works, but it's not the best. It's a super small light, so you don't see too much but it does help a small bit.

I'm ALWAYS out at night, I simply have no time to skate in the mornings..
So here's the safety tips:

1) Reflective jacket
2) Small flashing light (I use simple LED lights found at electronic shops)
3) ALL the protective gear you can use
4) always check a road before you go down, you have to memorize every corner and bump there.
5) in the corners, night is a big plus for you - you always see the car lights before the car itself. but it's also a big minus, even with all the equipment, drivers won't notice you till you're very close.
6) try to avoid sliding and riding the low profile, as your visibility lowers and cars may not see you properly.

It's a lot notices, I know, but riding at night is so much fun it's worth it

BTW gonna bomb the nearby canyon tonight, impossible to run in the mornings - full with cars, but at night... ooooh you've got to try this! it's fantastic!

Hmm, didn't notice this: Find a well lit street. It's good to have all those protective and reflective gear, but a well lit street should be the top priority on your list.

Night skating is the best in the city. So many lights, you don't have much to worry about.

Yup, it's pretty much all been covered.
Start mellow, on hills that you are familiar with so you know the 'fixed' hazards and be extra careful about stopping for cars when you need to because for the most part you are just a blob to them... moving in a mannor that they cannot comprehend... that makes them do stupid things... like run you over...

You could get a Prolight Board, they've got LEDs built in all around the bottom of the deck and it illuminates the ground really well, and keeps you visible from cars and such at night.
I just got one a few weeks ago and it's actually pretty astounding how bright the board is. Prolight Boards, Inc. :|:
