The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
I don't remember ever seeing a thread with a listing of all the different common full face helmets and pricing. I do however remember my frustration at trying to figure it all out when I first started using the fish, so I decided to try and summarize a lot of that useful info here for commonly seen helmets on the fish along with links to their individual threads. If mods feel this should be in downhill section, feel free to move it.
This thread is not meant to have the specs for every single full face offered, but instead to be used as a reference for some common helmets used along with links to more information regarding their specs. I listed the helmets in order from cheapest to most expensive (does not mean from worst to best)
Bell Drop: $65-$130
Probably the most common choice I've seen in the fish, especially for those just getting into dh due to it's cheap price along with great safety. These generally do not come with a visor, but many mods exist to install one yourself.
Bell Drop
Fulmer ADV: $100-$150
Somewhat new option that I'm sure many of us are aware of... it does have a visor already installed.
Fulmer AVD
Vector M-4: $180
A lot has been said about this helmet both postive and negative in this review thread. According to their facebook page, a newer model is coming out soon here in 2012.
Vector M-4
Icaro Paragliding Helmets: $230-$340
I have read many people questioning the level of safety offered by these helmets, but have seen one protect a friend's skull. There are many threads across silverfish with tidbits of info on these helmets here and there.
Icaro Paragliding Helmets
Charley No Limit Paragliding Helmet: $279-$339
This is another commonly used paragliding helmet. My friend has one of these and I have personally witnessed it save him high siding toeside in 30+ mph corner. Also, this was the helmet used in this major accident
Charley No Limit
Triple 8 T-8 Racer: $300
This helmet has not been released yet but looks promising. Triple 8 has estimated a release date of early March 2012 which isn't too far off.
T-8 Racer
Predator DH-6: $325
The predator seems to be widely regarded as one of the best full face helmets offered for downhill, but is also expensive.
Predator DH-6
Risch Ape Aerohelmet: $575
Aero helmets have been used for a while to gain that slight edge in races. This model is one of the more common aero helmets currently offered.
Risch Ape
Beat Engel Speed Helmet: $921
This is another aero helmet designed to get the edge in close races.
Beat Engel
I realize that I did not cover every helmet out there, but I feel this will be a great starting spot for people interested in exploring their full face options. If you have a helmet you would like me add to this list, I will make an effort to as long as there is actually info available for it.

Great thread. Should definitely help people out.

Re: The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
Love it. There is some information about the triple 8 helmet on their site.
There is also a fair amount of riders using Risch and Beat Engel helmets(Switzer uses a risch ape).

Re: The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
The Fulmer is called the ADV not AVD, and the starting price is 100$, not 130$

Re: The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
Ok updated the thread, thanks for reminders about certain helmets. I can't believe I forgot the charley no limit. Also if you guys know if any other prices are wrong/changed especially with the aero lids don't hesitate to correct me.
I thought the speedmaster pro is no longer made and was an older version of the vector m-4? I could not find any more for sale with a quick google search but I did not dig too deep looking either.

Re: The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
Rogerbros sells visors for the drop for fairly cheap.

Re: The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
Stumbled across Cookie Composites on a skydiving blog. Their helmets features d3o liner which is similar to TPU used in modern football helmets. This way you get better shock absorption with a smaller shell.
It looks promising but I'm worried about the lack of protection of the back head. It also appears it has no safety rating, but that doesn't need to mean it's unsafe, just that it has not been tested.
Have anyone used these helmets(G3 or Gas) in longboarding or have any inputs on them? It would be much appreciated.

Re: The Ultimate Full Face Helmet Compilation
POC Cortex DH MIPS

Expensive ($500 US), not aero but some of the better protection tech I've seen.

I agree, the POC Cortex DH is one of the nicest looking helmets I have seen in terms of FOV, protection, and weight. This would be my ideal model of a helmet purpose built for DH and fast freeride skating. I wish they were not sooo damn expensive though cause I would love to get one. Maybe one day, or maybe I'll find one on sale for cheap one day. For now my Vector is serving me juuust fine though.
You could argue it all day, but I don't really think this style helmet would be much of a disadvantage at all in terms of aerodynamics in about 98%-100% of all skating situations. A cleaner more consistent tuck is going to make more of a difference than the "aero" style helmets, as the rest of your body, legs, and feet amount to a much greater surface area than the top of your head and shoulders. Also, once you stand upright or leave your tuck, this type of helmet has a much smaller surface area, which equals less resistance than the "head-fairing" type of helmets that are so wide. I'm not saying that is the case for any brick you might strap to your head, but the mtn bike style, and paragliding style helmets with visors are far from being "non aerodynamic", and in most situations/conditions they might actually have an advantage over their more expensive aero fairing counterparts.
