If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you\'ll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

they're better than nothing...bonk your head a few times on cement
    if you don't believe me

it's a can of worms on the other hand...skate helmets aren't
regulated to meet any kind of standard requirements like
    motorcycle helmets are...

but again, just walk out to your street, lay down, and tap
the back of your head on the cement...do it at 15mph full force
and you might not ever need a helmet again...

I use a Pro-tec for my White water canoeing (with different padding and foams, but the same shell)
I have smacked my head a few times on rocks and stuff and while I came up seeing stars at least I still came up!
    Be alright it\'ll grow back!

I have a pro-tec helmet. They're pretty much one of the most common skating helmets in the states (I dunno where you people are from). They give good coverage, especially in the back-neck area, where bike helmets usually miss. As far as overall protection, I dunno, cause I've never been in a major accident with it on... knock on wood (or brick, in the little smiley). Plus, they come in many colors, and look cool too, if you have to wear a helmet.
