Dainese came out withPro Socks, a malleolus protector (right where the screws are usually surgically added)

I'm getting them and I'll write a review.
they can be worn alone but are adaptable with these Knee guard freestyle and Pro

Very interesting. I have a lot of problems with my ankles due to old injuries.
Let us know what they're like.

A cheap way of protecting beat-up ankles is going to a sporting goods or soccer store and buying ankle pads. Some soccer shin guards have ankle guards, but you can buy them separately for cheap and they're pretty protective.

I don't mean to thread jack or anything, but it's kinda along the same lines. Does anyone have something good for riding with a bad knee? Specifically dh racing. I tore my ACL last spring and had it fixed recently. I'd really like to race this summer but I'm going to need some support.

243, there are the braces that look like they are meant to make you the bionic man that COULD work. They are pretty ristrictive as far as agility, but if it's your front leg and you only need to keep your foot on the board those WILL work. You can also just try the braces that are a compression sleeve. They add considerable support and are still agile ( have a screwed up knee and play soccer in one so it'll work fine for boarding.

I suggest going with the latter unless your knee is really really messed up.

Great thanks. Ya I know which ones you are talking about. I had surgery on mine so I won't need that but I will need some extra support and something that will be able to fit under leathers nicely. I know the compression sleeve ones you are talking about. I'll have to try it out. Thanks.

These ankle savers are pretty sweet, they protect impacts to my ankle where the skin would get pinched between an object and the screws/plate under my skin. the achiles protector is uncomfortable but i think if someone falls off there board and it comes shooting toward my foot while i'm footbraking, my achilles is safe, but what are the odds of that? ask Nick Dunmall, jk.

Stretching before and aften skating is much more important than this ankle saver, but if i fall side and gring my malleolus i wont regret the purchase, but thats what high-tops are for...
