    Default Pro tec classic full cut old school

    does anyone have the 70's pro tec remake? it looks really cool, but i would like peoples opinons on it before buying another helmet.

    they are hot, but very nice in the winter since you can duct tape the holes up to keep the heat in and the wind out. I guess you could put earphones in as well.

    I used one through the 80s...very efective, but I hated the ear slats due to the way the effected sound...so I cut them out...good helmet though...still huge in the whitewater arena...

    I like mine, but it is difficult to find replacement liners when they wear out. I have 3 of them and they all need new liners (SoCalSkateshop used to carry them).

    I had an oldschool helmet before it was really ready to be trown out. And I realy dislike the new-style half helmets

    I have an original shaped protec from the early 80, same shape/design as the 70's design.
    The "new" 70's protec is just later design rafting/kayak/skydiving protec with skate padding. The slats were not on the early skate versions. You will also see from my helmet, that the front(and rear) went hole were much smaller.

    All I'm missing from my protec is the original rubber chinstrap with pop buttons on each end.
