...it can come down to how heavy your fat ass is rolling down a hill. A 12 year old paperboy with A.D.D who lives on FruitLoops and chocolate milk will not roll as fast as my jiggly body thats full of pizza and beer. These are just the facts.
with a full face helmet that face wouldn't have had a scratch..........think smarter and ride harder!!!

I cracked the liner in a DOT certified helmit. My friend had to drive me home. I had a headach for about three days and my short term memory was messed up. I hope people read this and wear helmits. 90% of the time I wear mine, and when I plan to go fast always.

Smashed my left knee and elbow two weeks ago, forgot to retighten the kingpins on my pool board after loosening them for my daughter (who is a light as a feather) so she could turn it.
Carve, carve, wheel bite, ouch.
Then the wound got infected and I'm now in antibiotics. Put me out of action for a week, and messed up my kung fu training too. Was wearing helmet and wrist protectors, but as the sun was shining (rare in the UK) I had shorts on, and no pads. Don't you love picking grit out of wounds...
LOOoong Bear hanger! My pushing foot (right) skipped over the back wheel when I was pushing (not so sure how that happened) and my left foot stayed on the board, forcing me to either do the splits or grind my knee on the pavement. I did a little of both and got a scrape (oh noes! should've worn pads)
I didn't even look down at it, pushed home and got inside, took my shoes off - Oh hey, trail of blood!
Brutal, good thing you were wearing a helmet. I did something similar and thanks to my helmet just had whiplash (I didn't get to roll, my head stopped me). Even my goddamn adams apple was bruised.

I've been recovering from various injuries for the majority of this last year. Included is a torn mcl and meniscus. A few broken ribs. A broken clavicle.
The clavicle was repaired as you can see, but on about my second mountain bike ride back from injury, I smoked a tree doing mach one million and I still have some ligament issues.
Now, none of this is longboarding related. I decided a couple of months ago that I should get a longboard for commuting around UBC . Used to skateboard as a kid, but I always sucked at tricks and preferred just riding, which none of my friends at the time did. The spud seems perfect for me. Fun to ride and impossible to ollie. Anyways, I was finally in a state of near full health so I put in an order with landyachtz. About a week later I was jumping off my friend's roof into his pool ('cause like, how else do you enter a pool right?) when I slipped on some PVC tubing and, well, missed the pool. 15' to concrete and tile could've been very very ugly, but I got off with two badly sprained ankles, two badly sprained knees (including a very slightly torn mcl and prepatellar bursitis) and a bunch of hairline fractures in my feet. My new board came in today and I'm in pain, but I have a big smile on my face. Let's hope my run of bad luck is over and this board isn't going to 'cause me too much grief.
john, your roadrash is a boo boo, and being sore does not account for an injury... look at what these other people are posting,
well then, i finally have a good one for you.
lost almost a pint of blood after severing an artery in there..... tried to use a streetlight to slow down and caught a bolt holding a street sign on it instead. twenty two stitches outside and two to close my artery. its almost completely healed now, had to cut off some dead skin.
all i did was break my big toe on my left foot. but as i ride goofy... well i cant push, footbrake, or tuck. so all i can do is pump, but i dont have a pump setup yet.
i over extended a TS slide, and crack. that was in late june. then i ninja-ed down a rock face, and gillie hopped down the last seven feet, and hurt it again. i was sitting up an Pioneer Rock" at a camp during campfire, and had to get down. i thought it would be funny if i just appeared into the crowd, which its was. ahh good times, sad as i just got Cindrich indy plates the week before i left, and now i cant really use them... yet.

dood no fair how come they screwed your clavicle back together? they just put a stupid brace on my shoulders and a sling on my arm and that was it?
and after reading some of these i find that the longboarding community knows a lot of the medical names for things and where they are at hahaha.
what color should i get my cast in (im getting my splint traded in for one on monday)? its a broken thumb on my right hand i have 3 pins in it now, the doctors drilling them in was probably the awsomest thing to watch i was laughing the whole time so the doctors thought i was crazy lol
