dood no fair how come they screwed your clavicle back together? they just put a stupid brace on my shoulders and a sling on my arm and that was it?
and after reading some of these i find that the longboarding community knows a lot of the medical names for things and where they are at hahaha.
AWESOME!
It had to do with the nature of the break. As you can see, the bone ended up over-lapping itself quite a bit and there was an extra shard sticking straight up and down. It would have healed on it's own into sort of a giant blob, but my one shoulder would have been about 2" shorter and there would have been pokey bits sticking up through the skin that would scare off the ladies and prevent my wearing of backpacks. Now that it's healed I must admit that I love the scar and the fact you can see the plate and some of the screws under the skin.
lost almost a pint of blood after severing an artery in there..... tried to use a streetlight to slow down and caught a bolt holding a street sign on it instead. twenty two stitches outside and two to close my artery. its almost completely healed now, had to cut off some dead skin.
i sprained my ankle and broke my wrist.... not too bad compared to almost losing a pint of blood after severing an artery and getting twenty two stitches.... ouch

hahaha dood my arms like an inch or so shorter cause when i seen my xray there was a piece just sitting there like yours i just think my doctor was cheap hahaha.
any who im glad you feeling better from i kno how that feels well idk if it was the same or not but either way haha im glad you didnt get the blob thing and scared off the ladies haha keep skating!
i just got done recovering from a torn ACL four months ago. can finallllllllly skate again after 18 months of not being able to do anything fun.
ever since i got the ok to get back on my board i've skated every day haha.
anyone else suffering from a torn ACL... Do you physical therapy and then some at home. Don't slack off and try and get on your board sooner than you should, you WILL tear it again just by ####### up a coleman or something. i know plenty of people, mostly skaters, that have torn their acl multiple times because they got back on the board too soon and had to wait another 18 months.

i call fake!
looks like a still from an old movie. doesnt look like a picture taken in 2009 with a digital camera.
the wound and the blood look fake as well, however those MIGHT be real.
it happened in a lacrosse game. i was running along side a guy with the ball, i was a little ahead of him and went to strip the ball. he pushed me when my right foot happened to be planted pointing towards him, he pushed me away from him. snap, crackle, pop.
landed on my shoulder going 30. I'll be out for a few weeks. this blows...
i had a dream that i was longboarding down a road with really bad pavement and for no apparent reason decided to look behind me. i saw a man on a board rocketing through a turn around 30 but not taking quite the right line. moments later he was off the road and off of his board.
after satisfying the odd curiosity of seeing the event, i turned back to the road to prepare for a slide. it was at that moment that i noticed how i, too, was about to be in the grass. and then i was.
Got an MRI coming tomorrow morning where I'll find out whether or not I tore my ACL. Doctor said he wouldn't quite bet the farm on it, but he's pretty certain. I feel so damn stupid. I was training for the Broadway Bomb, had my board loosened up a ton so I could control the board with my back foot (I push mongo), and was working on pushing regular so I could switch it up when my back leg needed a break. Apparently my balance isn't too good on my other foot, because I got some wobbles, stepped/fell off the board and landed with a straight knee. And that's all it took. Probably won't be sleeping tonight...all I can do is hope I'm taking 3 weeks off with a muscle tear and a low level sprain. MCL, ACL, and PCL are all pretty jacked. We'll see...
messed up a shut down slide at 25. landed on my head and shoulder. got uber road rash under my eye and on my shoulder gonna be off the board for a while.
WHY!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

Re: Whoe Else Is Recovering From An Injury.
i might be able to top those... i wasn't wearing a helmet (which i do now), and fell and fractured my skull. they had to drill a hole to drain the blood before it caused permanent brain damage. they lso had to put some titanium plates in my head to make it hold back together, oh yeah, and i was in a coma for a day, which started shortly after i stopped breathing. i now have a footlong question-mark shaped scar on the back of my head. so when someone tells you to wear a helmet, ####### listen.
since i wrecked this last monday, my hip has been really sore, and is still pretty scraped up. i said #### it and took my board out after work tonight, and it actually helped my hip feel better. #### laughter, boarding is the best medicine
