broke collar bone a cpl wks ago doing some downhill.. footing was slightly off when i was foot braking near the end before it turns into a a main st. got wobbles in my left feet as soon as i my right foot touched the ground to brake and pretty much had to hold it for as long as i cud till i ate ####. the whole time i knew i was gonna eat #### sooner or later just a matter of seconds.. i think i held it for a good 5-8 seconds then rolled out of really nicely but since i've broken my collar bone twice before i hit my shoulder in the right place to fracture it. i'm letting it heal as best as it can since im looking to be able to go all out for snowboarding season which is in another 2 months.. just gotta resist the urge to do anything crazy which can get pretty hard with a new 09 avenger setup staring at you all the time waiting to be ridden
My right ankle is been hurting me for about 6 weeks now, therefore I have not been able to push
I did skate a little today while I was walking my dog, I use my Caften it seats low,
We will see tomorow how it feals

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cold beer in one hand - longboard in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, Yeaa Haaa What A Ride!!!
my injuries are always coming and going
right now my left foot is killing me, i rolled it or something in an awkward fall
The problem is that my injuries take forever to heal, i hate not being able to skate so much that whenever my injury is almost healed i go out and skate, (thinking ill just take it easy) and end up screwing it up again, thus increasing the time i must wait till i can skate at full strength again
i have a strange injury. it is called OLD AGE. At 55, I ride daily and I can't catch 10 ft of air like I did 40 years ago. this is a tough reality.. so I just skog, longboard and race downhill.
all sports that could result in debilitating physical conditions tax various parts of your body more or less. Otherwise, we'd all be robots with replaceable parts. who knows, maybe that's coming!
"buddy, can you spare an un####ed ankle?"

ice it from time to time and wear a brace. it really works wonders. also, try to change your pushing style a bit. haven't had a problem since i made a few minor adjustments and started wearing a brace.
i discovered the other day that i can no longer wear shoes without much support after i wrecked over two months ago. my right heel hurts worse with every step in my fallen's, so it's nothing but dvs and running shoes now
I lost a fight with a crash barrier, broke my tibia in 3 places, my fibula in 1 and tore 2 ligaments in my ankle. Got a titanium rod running the length of my tibia and 4 screws holding it in and it looks like I swapped ankles with a small elephant. Oh and I fractured a rib.

Thats a heavy injury! I hope you recover fully and quickly!
I did a flip after hitting the side of a driveway lip (no helmet) and broke both of my wrists and I tore my left rotator cuff as well.
I'm glad you didn't hit your head (or we probably wouldn't be reading your injuries in this thread). Everyday when I read this thread, it sucks to hear about all the injuries, but then I realize that I am just one of many. Heal Up to Ride Again!

wear your helmet! seriously. i probably wouldn't be here if i hadn't worn my helmet. i faceplanted on cement one time when i was a kid and cracked my helmet in half. broke two teeth, and still have veneers on them. if it weren't for my helmet, there's no way i would have gotten up from that
mine dosent have to do with longboarding but it is effecting it now i was sleepwalking a fell down some stairs my right knee is swollen my left knee is cut my right elbow has rug burn like a bitch and i hit my head (i think i should wear a helmet in my sleep just incase) but ya im going to try and not fall down stairs anymore

did get to wearing wrist protection today but should have worn all the pads. both knees, right elbow, top of right shoulder and right hand knuckles have nice road rash. stupid move, down a small hill that lead to train tracks. a real "oh ####" type of problem. need to learn sliding and really good foot breaking. these scrapes are just scratches compared to the other injuries in this thread. hate to think of what could have happened to the wrists if protection wasn't worn.

I'm sorry to hear about your sleepwalking bail. If you are considering a sleep helmet, I recommend the Kanoa Fly-Away half-shell. Its light weight, comfortable, and you'll hardly notice that your wearing it.

Wow my injuries are nothing compared to these. I was garaging and hit i hugge crack in the ground (about 7 inches wide and 3inches deep), bounced up, did a mid air 180 while speed tucking and fell, the whole left side of my body (shoulder to knee) decided it was too cool to have skin on it so that hurt pretty bad.
