I was skating the Encinitas Y Kidney and popped my shoulder out. I am the first guy skating in the red shirt and at the end of the run you can see where I push my grind too far and go down. Nice edit, you can barely see it. Anyways, the doc said I subluxated my shoulder, in other words a partial dislocation that went back into the socket. Felt it and now I am in a bit of pain. Here is the vid. http://vimeo.com/2797858

Oh, I think I've done that to my knee! But not skating. And a couple years ago. It felt like my kneecap or shin bone (fibula?) popped out and then went back in. It hurt a lot, and I couldn't walk to well for a while.
wellI got my medical release about 3 weeks ago but the weather hasn't been kind (snow) for skating done a little snowboarding but having not skated in +3 months I don't have the legs to really enjoy that...As much as I hate indoor I may end up travelling to the local plywood hell just to get some exercise

Nice Video! I went down dropping into a bowl last week and jammed my elbow pad into my rib cage. Figured they were bruised until a week later (and another session) I woke up in the middle of the night with sharp pains, especially with deep breaths. X-ray said cracked ribs (maybe, they couldn't totally tell) but no lung punctures! My wife and co-workers (except the one I skate with) think I'm nuts doing at 43, but damn do I love the skate buzz.
well i dislocated my elbow and fractured my lower humerous 7 months ago. Got a surgury and put some pins in my elbow right now. till now i cant bend my arm all the way in nor out. i only have 97 degrees of moment out of 155 degrees in my elbow right now. Really sucks... and i still have pins in my arm BUT im getting them out on feb 9th
I did a cross step to nose manual, got 2 seconds in and then my front wheels hit a rock i didn't see. i was on a very rough concrete sidewalk (imagine a rake going through the concrete while its wet then letting it dry that way) so i flew off my board. total belly flop but my left side took most of the initial impact.
i got this TERRIBLE gross scrape/scratch/hole thing on the side of my elbow and above my hip. by the hip, right at the center of the wound, you can kinda see my bone.
the shower after was the worst thing of my life. hahahaha.
not stopping me though. its been 3 days since that incident, i'm going out for a nice light cruise tonight. just gonna slap on some gauze and go. i can't take not skating.
aaaaa, the shower bit's the most stingy/painful part after them road rash inducing incidents.
was trying out my newly arrived speedboard then I tried foot braking last night going down this mellow hill and my feet got thrown off backwards and it sent me rolling/sliding and my board flying. roadrash on both my elbows and knees. the shower bit's the most stingy part haha.

Everytime out I wear leathers, a fullface, and good gloves. I suck so bad that I eat it more than anyone but I never get hurt because I wear the proper safety equipment. It might suck to be old like me but not as bad a severe road rash in the shower!!!
i sprained both my wrists doing frontside stand up slides lol. if i wasn't wearing gloves i would've broken both...

So mine seems a little weak compared to some of this. I slammed my knee into ice snowboarding a month and a half ago. The doctors said it was just sprained, and that I should be fine in about ten days. Well that was a no go, and I haven't been able to go snowboarding since. I've been longboarding a bit and taking it easy but at the gym tonight the crapper started acting up again so I'm probably going to have to get an MRI done on it.
Hopefully it's just a freak accident *crosses fingers*
