Would a snowboarding helmet be okay?

unless your riding dh its fine but for downhill people usually rock fullfaces

That`s really hard to say, without knowing which helmet you have, but many of the snowboard helmets I`ve seen, have too little protection......

it's better than nothing. i use a wakeboarding bern helmet since it breathes really well. i've taken a couple hard hits to the head and it's been fine but it's not EPS foam so it's not a good idea. meh.

most snowboarding helmets I've seen are EPS foamed or at least similar solid foam, so it should be fine. again anything is better than bare-skull to asphalt.
