Default How safe is this helemt?

Im looking to buy a helmet cause I dont want to turn into a vegetable. I have a fairly large head and have had troubles fitting into the one size fits all helmets.

How is the helmet. It is the Pro-tec Classic with hard EPS foam it is ce/cpsc certidfied.

Looks fine to me. EPS and SXP foam are the way to go. If you're still in doubt, put one on and have your friend hit you in the head with a brick.

I think that thread was more about the classic protec with the soft foam, not EPS foam like the one the OP put up.

ive got one of those helmets with hard foam , it fits my head really well and feels safe

I havent taken any spills in it yet but the general consensus is that

soft foam = better for low speed impacts and minor stuff , its reuseable and not as protective

hard foam = better for huge hits , only use once , breaks when crashed , saves your head

I don't know if you were planning on doing this but NEVER EVER buy a helmet online without trying in first. A helmet that's too big can slide behind your neck on impact and break your neck.

Also, most helmets come with pads of different thicknesses you can swap to adjust the fit. The best is going to a bike or skate shop and try some on. Any skate or bike helmet should be safe under 30 km/h. They might be safe at higher speeds too, but I don't know for sure, I'm estimating based on the speed bikes usually do.
