Default Triple 8 second skin pads

I just bought a set of Trip-8 kevlar second skin pads. Theyre thickly cushioned and lined with kevlar to prevent abrasion, but do they hold up to hard plastic pads? I wanna know in case anyone here has em or has tried them. I didn't wanna drop big money on pro 187's, or have a hard plastic cap hindering my movement. Also, they fit under jeans. I just hope Im not giving up function for form.

did you just get the knee pads? or did you get elbow pads as well...and if you got elbow pads, are they comfortable? sorry to not answer your question, but im still looking for a good pair of elbow pads and these sound like they might do the trick...thanks!

If I had to do it again I'd go with something with a hard pad instead of soft. They have a tendancie to roll over at times and you still get road rash. But for the most part they handle impact well except for massive bruising

so they arent very good of protectors, and they arent comfortable (im taking that from the fact that they slide around, which to me doesnt sound comfortable)

don't get me wrong they are very comfortable, and the only time they roll over is when the too of the sleeve catches the road 1/10 falls. But for blunt force protection they suck!!!! But for now you'll be good. Just try to avoid hard direct impacts. Try to slide on them and absorb the impact more with your hands and tips of your toes when you fall

word...im thinking of just getting like a neoprene brace for my elbows, just to protect against minor damage for my sesh's...im not big into DH, so all i need is just protection against road rash....comfort is a priority

I bought medium for my chunky legs hoping it won't roll around. Its pretty hefty on one side, so it's not like its slip slidin around.

forgive me for possibly being naive...but why the hell would you want a knee pad that doesn't have a hard puck on it? wouldn't it just tear to shreds the first time you fall??? and why under jeans? i don't like holes in my jeans...maybe you don't fall very much...but I like to push my limits...and I don't like holes in my jeans or buying new pads every time I fall.

    am I missing something here?

Since when does kevlar tear to shreds? Im not looking to go skating in pools or parks where pads can sustain a forceful impact, I'm looking for abrasion resistance when bombing garages and hills. I have plenty of throwaway jeans too. Theyre $20 a pair at old navy and I have 8 or 9 pairs just sitting around.

those are made for Roller Bladers mostly guys (and girls) who skate ramp and want to wear pants. they do indeed fit under most baggy jeans but I sure as hell wouldn't take a fall on them intentionally, i.e. fall to your knees and pray like most people do when they fall in a ramp/pool on plastic capped kneepads. I wore mine for dorking around on curbs but that's all.

Hell, I found them for 20 bucks and theyre flexible, so why not? im no roller blader, but having some flexibility when carving and doing dropknee turns through garages helps. Again, I'm not a park skater, so im not looking for major impact resistance

honestly I wear the same pads for DH/garage/cemeterys/slalom that I wear for pool/park/ramp they are comfortable and I'm used to falling on them.
