    Default Afx Fx-37 visor

I'm looking into a downhill helmet and have, for the moment, settled on the Afx Fx-37. i was wondering if anyone knew if the visor was removable, or if there is a way to remove it myself without compromise the integrity of the helmet. I have not been able to figure this out by looking at pictures and have not seen a pic of one minus the visor.Any input would be appreciated esp if any of you own one of these.

Yes the visor is removable. It doesn't take any special tools, or compromise the integrity of the helmet in any way. I posted a review of this helmet a while back (with photos of the visor removed) AFX-37 DS Helmet. I am very happy with mine and haven't had a single problem with it.

I think it's funny how people keep bringing up the master chief thing. Seriously, your going to tell me that all those super-aero, custom carbon fiber helmets look cool? Besides, I'll take being safe over looking cool any day of the week. The AFX is DOT rated for highway use, nuff said.

I think you mean the face shield, not the visor. They also sell tinted and mirrored shields as well.

Yes you can, takes a bit of patience to get the shield to be flippable (and actually stay up), but it's doable. However, after using mine for two months, I switched back to my Bell Drop because the AFX is a tad heavier and has less visibility, as well as being a huge helmet in general. You look like a bobble head with it on. The Bell Drop is more comfortable and I feel plenty safe in it (it's a mountain biking helmet, after all).
