sorry to bump this thread but its better than making a new one. someone tell me about this helmet:
in the middle. those helmets are proto risch helmets right? the one in the middle is by far my favorite shape, and is impossible to find similar helmets in those shapes like landinghams and walt nestell helmets

That last risch looks completely rad. Reminds me of a Beat Engel, except hopefully sized to accommodate heads larger than the average well-fed squirrel.

They are! A lot of the updates on Risch Aerohelmets come through on facebook. Stephan is working on a new website for Aerohelmet.com, but for now takes orders online via email or through his personal facebook. Some cool things happening for 2013...

edit: i checked the risch site and i guess it could have had an inner shell, but im not sure how i would have missed it..... i would have taken a picture, had i known this thread was going to be here.

If we ask it means we don't need it yet? What if you just want knowledge? Would you buy a set of trucks without asking what benefits they have? A person just wants to know if it's a safe helmet because not all of them are completely safe

I'm no expert or even owner of a Risch, but I've handled some Doris models over the years.
All the padding was soft foam, rendering them unsafe in most impacts.

That said, it's always been the assertion of anyone rocking them that "you place your head in the hands of god"

These same people didn't really wear helmets for much else if I'm being honest.

Later versions like the Kong/Ape/Rosemarie's Babys have a hard foam insert, from what I've heard.
I think they might have come from a Charlie/Icaro, but I can't be certain.

I've seen a beat engel on eurotour 2009, some older dude had one, it was literally a tiny shell with pretty much no real padding.
IIRC, Dalua was rocking a Beat Engel in 2010, with the little fins on the back
