the problem wasn't them being annoyed at the first place, but that there weren't any samples to be taken home at all (not even for my mom who happened to be there with me). same thing happened at lowes (didn't have any drawers or samples to give just in-store samples). i probably could've taken more samples than 12, but my pockets weren't big enough

they are made of plastic. if you go to wall mart they have cutting boards for about 1.50. i cut out pieces for the other gloves in the background and melted down the scraps on the stove in a little non stick pan i found that was perfect because they would pop right out when they cooled. and they melt on to gloves really good to. i just like the feeling of plastics way more then those hard counter samples its easier to.

When attaching velcro for gloves, I find this method works well.

1) Get the white industrial velcro at Home Depot (can't remember the brand) and don't get the gray stuff with the giant hooks. It's crap.

2) Try to cut the velcro the the actual size of the palm pucks, it works best if it's the entire puck instead of a patch in the middle. The edges that arn't velcro make it detach very easily.

3) Put a very tiny amount of super glue on the adhesive side of the velcro, the fabric and plastic pieces.

4) Press the velcro on very firmly and then attach the pucks and gloves together.

5) Don't move them, just put a weight (like 10 pounds is more than enough) on the each glove and let the super glue set. Should leave them for about 3-4 hours or so. 5 to be safe and make sure that glue is completely done.

6) For the best attachment on the velcro, try to take the pucks off the velcro as little as possible when you're out riding so you don't weaken the velcro.

All this making your own slide gloves seems complicated.

I think I'll use my weeks paycheck towards grabbing a pair from a company.

Are most gloves the same?

making gloves isn't that complicated. it took me about 7 minutes to assemble mine and after 3 times out the corian shows no wear at all, the gloves got dirty but that's because i had to reach under a car to get me board and i guess some grease got on them.

This is a sick thread.
I'm gonna make soms slide gloves tomorrow and I have 2 options for the gloves.
1. Old Mountain Biking gloves (:: SixSixOne Protection ::)
or
2. gardening gloves(what you guys use)

They will probably work but they will end up destroyed quickly. Leather work gloves are typically the longest lasting.

Following the instructions on here, I decided to make my own gloves to get into sliding, and progressively, DH. I learned that the 4x4" corian tiles ARE NOT samples, and so I had to actually sneak them out, the 2x2" ones are easy enough to get though, I have probably 20 leftover. I just used some generic ACE Hardware gloves, some generic superglue, and industrial strength velcro. I haven't tried them yet, but they seem sturdy. Here pics:
