In most cities,they have shop that sell UHMW and DELRIN(oil inpregnated nylon)you can find these places in your yellow pages under industrial, plastics or industrial rubber.The prices are super low.Check out and make some slide gloves.
I go with 4" round bar for palms and use 1.5" round for the fingers. I don't do thumbs, thats for the gorilla tape I cut them 1/2" thick, bevel, stick the velcro on, trim off excess velcro, and BOOM! Breakfast.
