Default Deck Question

Hey, I'm just getting into sliding and im purchasing a new deck next week. Currently I ride a S9 Padang (Bamboo Series) w/ Randall RII 150's and Lime Abec11 Retro ZigZags. I was going to get a dervish b/c of how most of what I do is cruising/carving, and just drop my current trucks and wheels on it for the time being. Its probably a silly question, but how well does sliding dervishes work? Does the flex make any difference with sliding, and how are retro zigzags for sliding?

Finally, what is the first slide most people learned? I'm working on a coleman right now but is there something people learned before that?

Thanks.

im confused...could you guys actually explain what you mean? Would I be able to somehow put risers on a dervish to make it fit w/ randall r-II 150s? How would this work?

thanks a ton.

putting risers between the truck baseplate and the board while it is dropped through will only further lower the board, making wheelbite more of an issue.

if you mount the trucks on the bottom of the board instead of dropping them through, then you would be able to put risers on like normal, thus topmounting it. the added risers will increase the ride height while the board is topmounted, which would decrease wheel bite. but then you'd basically have a half assed vanguard i would imagine. i don't know though...

I posted my current board up in the for sale section, both here and on craigslist. Going to sell it and buy a dervish. Specs for dervish will be:
Trucks: Randal R-II 180
Wheels: Gumballs 76mm 78a
Bearings: Bones Reds

Any suggestions in terms of how this would work for what I do? Mostly I cruise/carve with a little bit of sliding that im just getting into. Mostly tossing up between randal and paris trucks, and 78a vs 81a on the gumballs. Any opinions?

Thanks
