Alright slide junkies heres the deal. As I sit here on the couch dosed up on Nyquil with the flu bug from hell I've been going through some emails and pm's. It seems quite a few people want to see a slide deck added to the Arcane arsenal and I'm all for it. If you don't know Arcane here's a link Arcane Boards Info and Updates So here's the fever induced idea I came up with.
I want to hold a video slide competition here on the Fish. The top three finishers will have the chance to get their hands dirty and help me design an Arcane dedicated slide deck. They will also get the very first prototypes to help test and refine. This will be a Maple deck with composite possibilities. Do I hear glass? carbon? Hmm
The rules of the comp will be simple. Bring whatever style you want, just make it look good. It will last about 2-4 weeks to give you guys and gals a chance to hone you're skills and get it on camera. I'm still undecided on the time frame. The comp vids should be about 30 seconds long with as many slides and variations you can fit into it. Dig deep down into your bag o tricks and pull out some show stoppers. There will be an entry thread and an open judging thread. I will also gather a special team (me and a few cold ones) to judge the vids and help come up with the winners. More detailed entry/judging rules will be laid out in the entry thread.
This will be open to all Fish members everywhere, if you know someone that kills the hills and isn't a member have them sign up and enter.
So who's down? If I get enough yeas I'll start an entry thread soon, if not I guess I'll go it solo.
Looks like we already have some takers. Nice. For those of you that don't think they have the skills it would still be nice to see a vid, the more the merrier no matter the skill level. It's a chance to help design a board and earn a prototype but it's also meant to be fun and to inspire the newer sliders joining the ranks.
I'm hoping for a good number of entries in this so spread the word. As I said before this comp is for everyone wherever you are.
Edit: I guess I should have put something along the lines of Video side competition in the thread title. Oh well.
