hey, i am new to longboarding. im 15, live in NJ. i recently bought a sector 9 wedge(sector 9 doesnt seem to be very popular around this forum...) and really want to do some sliding with it. i can d some basics like a coleman on my small skateboard(from when i didnt longboard) and i was wondering what wheels would be best for sliding for my board. and help would be appreciated, thanks

larson, i have been trying to slide with the stock 78a wheels, but just cant get it around fast enough to get myself back on the board. ill look into the earthwings
how do they compare to gravity's slide wheels?

pearljam, are you looking for dedicated slide wheels? like, that's all you'd be doing on the wheels is sliding? earthwing slide a wheels are GREAT for that, but they're horrible for cruising and carving. your best "do-it-all" wheel would be something along the lines of a pink powerball, abec11 noskool, or an earthwing 70mm superball

Re: hey, questions from a beginner
if you're going with gravity, get sergio slide wheels. but yeah, for a DEDICATED slide wheel, any hard street wheel will do (except bones wheels), rainskates, earthwing slide wheels, etc.
I used to run a set of the 66mm/90a Street Sliders on my BE40. With enough practice they'll definitely hold their own in just about any slide you want, but they are much sticker than the EW Slide A's or the Gravity Sergio Sliders. They're a bit more comfortable to ride on, but still nothing plush.
I'd recommend the Sergio Sliders if you're on a budget and want something ideal for tech slides. If you have a couple more bucks to spare, the Earthwings are also great.
ok, so i just ordered my corchia with indy 169s.
i have narrowed the wheel choices down to the gravity sergios or the slide a-s.
what do you guys think slides better/loses traction easier?
