is there a way to slide to stop in case of emergency without gloves? i mean if i'm just cruising around, i certainly won't be wearing gloves. it would be good if i were going outside prepared.

Oh sh*t. Yeah, totally disregard what i said, i neglected to take into consideration you said without slide gloves. Replace what i said with what longboardorific said...Speed Checks. In which case i have another vid that shows good examples...
im working on a slide puck that you can hold real easy but you can like clip it on to your pocket or something so you can grab it real quick without always having it in your hand. ill post pics soon.
I second the Speed Check option. When you get good at it you can push the board into a 4 wheel standing slide which kills speed very effectively. A good option too if you see a sketchy situation coming up and you are hauling ass is to sit on the board and brake with both feet. Im sure you figured that out by your self though.
