I'm just curious, I've been getting into sliding but I have only slid softies so far. I have some Skaterbuilt poolside favours on a pool setup and an 8.5 deck which I could use for sliding. I'm just wondering, does a 99a wheel need any breaking in, riding off the slick layer or just ride around then a little bit and start sliding them?

I would say that you should always wear off the mold release before you start doing any drifting/sliding/whatever. It shoudl be easier with harder wheels than with soft.
