So,I'm gonna buy a loaded Vanguard soon, and I'm looking around the fish to see what wheel is better, gumballs 81a or bigzigs 80a. so,which is better for sliding?

I never liked Gumballs not least of which because they don't drift all that well. I own lime BigZigs and I think that they are a terrible wheel for sliding. They are a slalom wheel with flexible lips that are designed for maximum grip not optimal slides. "Broken in" or not, they will chunk if you slide them a lot.

out of the two, gumballs are a better wheel for sliding. They are pretty bad when it comes down to how smooth they are, but they'll do the job. Might want to look into something like flywheels (76mm) or Strikers when it comes to sliding.

im sorry. i was under the impression that, in general, softer wheels will be grippier and harder wheels will slide easier. correct?

yup, thats the general theory, but some wheels with a lower duro can still slide better than one of a higher duro

it sometimes depends on the set of the hub, centerset, offset and sideset

yes there is.

i have heard that the racers get tons of bushing and try every possible combination until they get a perfect one, which may use 4 different kinds, lol

when you're ripping around corners at 55 miles per hour, it matters.

definitely

and most of them are weekend warriors. its hard to make a living off of this sport, so they have real jobs too

and its awesome having it be a small sport because its more intimate that way, i can run into longboarders other places and its just awesome

im sure there are some, but i really cant say. I have seen some of the race money given at bigger events, and its not much. There arent enough big events to continually get a source of cash, and its hard for one guy to win a lot of events straight in a row. A lil speed wobble can lose you the race.and in theory, if one guy did win every race he entered to make a living, i doubt [but am totally guesing] that if one other racer one second to him every race, he couldnt have enough cash to make a living, and that leaves a ton of other pros third place and with little to no cash.

maybe some racers could help with this question, lol
