well my gravity slide gloves came in the mail today finally I am so stoked. I went outside and got my element board because its my only board with concaves. I put the indipendtent trucks and s9 slide wheels on them but the slide wheels didn't slide at all!!!
so i put on some old slalom wheels and those slid alot better. I'm not very good at it at all but im practicing. the only one i really got down is where i put both gloves down toeside and then slide 180 degrees. dont know what its called tho. anyways im uber stoked btw what are some easy slides i can start out with?
Toeside 180 and Coleman Slide are the easiest to learn. Just go to Faltown Skateboards - U.K. Skateboards & Longboards and check the slide skool, great videos.
You sould also think about buying a dedicated slide board.
S9 slide wheels are pretty whack, my friend completely DESTROYED two of his S9 slide wheels in just one slide. I don't mean he severely flatspotted it, i mean the wheels were literally oval shaped and there was a pea-sized rock jammed into the wheel itself! It looked like the wheels were made of surf wax, it was the craziest #### ever.
On a similar note, i suggest getting some 99a Mini Logo wheels to start off, they're only $15 and slide better than the S9's (plus, you'll probably flatspot them learning so you may as well work out the kinks on the cheap wheels and then move up to some better stuff like the EW Slide A's once you have better control).
