Okay I'm going to ask real specific like...I have a EW Superglider with Randalls and Flashies on it. I want to slide but I feel like I'm doing speed checks rather then just sliding. I have two questions...1. Should I even expect to truly slide on my setup that I have? 2. Where do I place my feet on the board? I keep falling off when I slide...I have a nice pair of Nike SB's so I don't think its my shoes.. Any help would be much appreciated.

Its your shoes.. if you wanna stick get a thin bottom flat vulcanized skate shoe. the soles on those Nike's sare too thick and wont flex and dont conform to the board as well

what's an example of such shoez? I got a sweet pair of Nike SBs also, but i also have a pair of like 10 year old Converse Weapons that are nasty.
I'm a beginner slider too so I don't really have much knowledge to share.
If you want ot get in to more technical sliding (spins and such) hard wheels will help, but if your just looking to get your coleman on then what you have is fine.
its just your technique. i slide barefoot on 75a gumballs all the time so just learn to get it.

I'm going for Standup slides...like power sliding. I don't have gloves so I can't try Coleman's yet. Sometimes I feel like I'm sliding on both wheels but most of the time is just my back wheel sliding out. Is there something I'm not doing?? I feel like it could be really simple...Any Suggestions.
If you can do speed checks already try lifting your weight from your back foot more and more after initiating the speed check until you can get the board to go past 90 degrees, then past 100, then past 120, and so on.
It also helps to swing around your arms, shoulders, and upper body towards the direction you're going. (i.e. if goofy, you swing your shoulders towards the right or clockwise and if regular swing towards the left of counter-clockwise)
Just remember, less and less pressure on the back foot and then swing.

I found riding on a wet road helped me to get a feel for it. You don't need as much speed to initiate the slides and the wheels break out easier. Once you've got that down you can translate what you've learned on wet roads to dry roads.

I don't know about that. I've always had trouble controlling my slides on a wet road, the wheels shoot out too easily for me. It's worth a try though, and if it makes you more comfortable, go for it.
