Wiggle War IV - the countdown

OK. It's June. It's only 16 days away. For those of you heading to my house Friday evening:

For those of you heading straight for the race Saturday morning:

Google-map your way to 301 Blankenheim Rd Sun Prairie, WI 53590. There will be zillions of peopel around and you'llprolly hafta park a couple blocks away. but you will know you are in teh right area. There will be signs saying which way to the Wiggle War, but with all the people arounf they might not be super visible. The race actually takes place on Chase Blvd at the intersection fo Blankenheim and chase.

I will have Sun Prairie city maps with the locations of the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning races. I'll pass them out at the Saturday morning race. If you are not going to come until after the Saturday morning race, lemme know and I will figure out some other way to let you know where the other races are.

The Friday night DH session may take place on a couple different hills. We'll move around and try 'em out. There's one hill that's just steep and straight. Always wanted to do it. Kinda like a drag race. There's a 4-way stop at the bottom though ...so we'd need to take turns being spotters.

Main St in Sun Prairie is under construction. There are detour signs, but don't sweat it. With all the busniesses on Main St, they can't actually shut it down completely. If your directions tell you to take Main St, just go ahead and follow Main St. It's still open all the way through, but it's two lanes and dusty.

If you get mixed up in Sun Prairie - call my cell at 608-630-0184. I will make the best effort I can to answer it. Sometimes I may not hear it, depending on what's going on around me at the moment, but keep trying.

It'll be great to have ya. You driving up in your awesome Jeep? My daughter Katie just bought a 2002 Jeep Cherokee last night. It isn't as cool as yours, but it still tweaks my Jeep jealousy.

I'm sure you'll find the trip worthwhile. I'm really sorry I missed the Batavia race. History was made that day for sure!

Well I haven't slalomed in a month or so and decided to pump around yesterday. I went for a 3 mile trek with my sister on her bike and only touched my foot down to get going and turn around. That was a bad idea. Oh the pain. I'm feeling alright today though.

Wish I could go. My wife loves to schedule vacation on that same weekend like every other year. I'll be thinking about you guys as I'm driving back. Bobby had nothing but good things to say about the WW last year.

Who the heck wears the pants in your family? I should talk right? Last year I missed the St Louis Slalom because of vacation plans not made by me. Doreen and I have been married almost 28 years now, and we have had the same 3 rules all along:

1.) Doreen's always right.

2.) I'm always wrong.

3.) Everything's always my fault.

Those 3 rules cover every single possibility. With that kind of perspective to keep things in balance, there is perfect harmony.

So what boards are everyone bringing? I'm really considering bringing the whole quiver sans slide board which will put me with my Libido for slaloming of course, my Pagan for DH depending on the course, my Voodoo for DH depending on the course, and I'm thinking about bringing the FSM for some slopestyle stuff. Are we gonna be doing some freeriding and shtuff?

Well ... since it's gonna be at my house and everything ... I'll have all my boards. Like it's so many. Two Chi+ill boards for slalom and giant slalom, a Kebbek DH board and a Bombhills cruiser/backup DH board.

What you need to check out is my daughter Katie's vintage 1970's Logan Earth Ski. Not a re-issue. The real thing. My wife found it at a garage sale a few years ago. Paid a dollar for it. It had never been drilled for trucks. Now it's mounted with Tracker RT-X/RT-S trucks and 3DM Cambria wheels.
