I have a home made slalom deck with an 18" wheelbase. I want to put on wider trucks on it. (Bennett 5.0 and RTS 129mm)Looking at getting some Big Zig lemons. How do u think this will work?
I want it to do ldp as well as slalom. The board fits my stance perfect. Which is why i settled for the short wb.

It's good that you know what wb works for you (leg length etc.). With an 18"wb you will have a great tight slalom deck and I would probably go with 70mm or 66mm lemon/lime wheels. If you want to run your rig in races an 18" wb is usually rather twitchy on hybrid and GS courses. You "could" run your deck through these type of courses, but you probably won't be very competitive. The BigZigs are great for GS or SGS, and you probably don't want to mix a TS wb/(deck specs?) with GS wheels.
I dont plan on really racing too much. But is ur prob only with the wheels? How do u think my trucks will work? I was thinking 15* wedge in front and 10* dewedge in back.

I was just thinking that with an 18"wb, your trucks are going to want to turn more quickly than what your wheels were made for. Your trucks choice is solid as long as your wheels don't stick out too far. Obviously, you don't want shoe or deck bite on your wheels. Have fun on your new setup!
