    RTX front, RTS back I think. Pivot on the X a bit smaller, bit more aggressive. They are good trucks. When I started back to slalom a few years ago I started with an RTX full up front and a Tracker DART (midtrack hangar-type) rear. Good combo, Richie gave it to me.

    X = straight pivot = front
    S = bent pivot = rear

    I know what is the difference between the RT-X and the RT-S. Sk8kings offers a 106mm Fulltrack hanger mounted on a RT-S baseplate. Thye say it provides better turning then the RT-X. I want to know if anyone has tried it out. I want to know what they think of it.

    Everyone knows the bennett kicks ass as a front truck. But its too wide and the Skennett is too much. Also I dont have the tools to mod it myself.

    I guess it was hard for us to understand what you were asking w/o a link reference to what you posted about. I am assuming you meant this taken from the Sk8kings web site:

    "FOR SLALOM RACING: A entry-level truck choice for your slalom racing set-up. A common truck for slalom setups is one RTX 106mm front paired with one RTS 106mm rear truck. We also recommend a Fultrack 106mm hanger with an RTS baseplate for a good front turning truck. Ask for it in the notes section and we'll do that no charge."

    I have run S's up front. Given the choice I would sooner take the X up front or I would wedge an old small pivot full track instead. I happen to have a bunch of old-school small pivot plates and hangars - saving them now though... I plan on giving them to Wesley when he passes away.

    If anyone would know it would be Richie. I still think the pivot cup on the STrac is too big for front but may work well for you. Ask Richie for a straight-up recommendation between the two since the cost is the same... Given the 2 I would take the X but hey it's just an opinion.

    he's referencing the fact that the stock completes at skatekings comes with a fulltrack hanger on an RTS plate.

    ur best selling most versatile design, Tracker Racing Truck Combo Fultrack 106mm hanger on RTS baseplate BP front and 106mm RTS (rear),
    an RTX isn't even a front truck option. (I'm sure dude would put it on for a request, my point is just that it's not a drop down option).

    Those may be the typical uses of the S/X trucks and even how they are generally marketed by Tracker, but there are many other uses for both types of pivots. I know a lot of people who like the feel of the bent pivot in front, including myself, for GS. When the Tracker bent pivot was first introduced it was used for both front and rear trucks. The Midtrack (bent) was once the über tight slalom truck. Note that the Bennett also uses a variation of a bent pivot and is considered a front truck. Airflow trucks use an RTX straight pivot plate plate as a rear.

    A more accurate contrast would be:

    X/straight = tippy and divey
    S/bent = smooth and linear

    The terms "straight" and "bent" are misleading anyway. The bent pivot points to the center of the bushing seat and the straight pivot points considerably below it (truck in riding position). In a sense the straight pivot rotates around the axis and the bent pivot rotates on it. It would make more sense to call the "bent" pivot "on-axis" and the "straight" pivot "off-axis".

    ISSA - International Slalom Skateboarding Association :: View topic - Cheap.O.G.

    LOL - I love this post and discussion on the "other" forum. I have some S and X's available for anyone that wants them. I will not be riding them again. I have some modded - used a dremel on the hangar for more clearance away from the kingpin. Turn, or is "divey", like a mother.

    I also have a pair of Geezer's (S & X) with 8mm axles. I think I will keep those; very special.

    Stevie's eval is dead-on I think.

    Hey, for the price of a beer you can have a G.O.G on the cheap...

    I didnt know that about the bent pivot. So what u r saying is that the Fulltrack hanger on an RT-S base plate will be better than the RT-X?

    I personally don't think so for racing slalom TS and Hybrid; X better choice I think. Stevie points out a good point about the turning dynamics of these two designs. I have raced the S's in GS and think they could be a good choice for a stable ride in that discipline. Again just an opinion - always worth what you pay for it! ZERO...

    When we started racing here in So Cal (99) we were always looking for the best turning trucks we could get ahold of , When the X and S series came out we rode the heck out of them and We started riding mids in S plates and found some magic quickness there with no flop feel. I rode this setup to podium for a few years before I could get some Radikals. In Austria o6 The TS was won on a fulltrack setup simular to this. We try to help riders get things that work well and are comperable. If you have not tried one maybe you should. I know it wont break your bank....

    If that isn't a straight-up recommendation (from the best) then I don't know how you would get one.
