Default Warning: new slalomer setup question

Ok ladies and gents of the cone killing industry, it is my time to try my hand at slalom! I've done it a tad before and it was pretty fun but I now have the opportunity to trade a Mystery Model for a Pavel foam core deck so I am going to go ahead with that. I also plan on using either Big80 -5 70mm 80a wheels or some sort of zigzags for the setup and I am just at a loss as to what width trucks I should be looking at. I want this to be more of a HS setup, I want to be able to cruise on it if need be and not have it too tippy. I REALLY want Radikals haha but that is solely lust, not something that is going to be a reality. If there is a thread to point me to that would inform me that would be great or if there isn't one, just answer here

Also, last question. I was wondering if Big80s would be a little sluggish for slalom? Would wheel width affect turning drastically enough to make me gobble up some cones?

Oh how great it feels to be a noob again

For anything other than GS, you'll want to keep your trucks around the 100mm range, and most people don't go any wider for GS, either.
