I think you'd be better off with a Sk8kings or something similar..
You can get a smoking deal on Sk8kings Axe decks..
That board on the pumpkin site looks like a slalom board from 1978..
You can find something a lot better than that for a good deal.

I love my custom wide Pumpkin 86 cm. Vertlam hardwood and carbon fiber. Killer carving deck especially doing deep hard turns completely across the road by weighting it heavily with my rear foot as I enter the turn. I love the way it springs out of the apex when I unweight it.

I've never used it for slalom. Slalomites don't do that kind of carving. They are into hip wiggling and tighter courses even in super GS. Undoubtedly faster, and requiring great skill, but just not any fun.

my friend had a pumpkin. that thing had great compression but the snap was kinda bland. very skinny deck, i think like 7 at its widest. hiiiiiiiiiiigh camber. and no concave, so it was hard to make a skinny flexy deck react quick.

Mine was built to my weight, is a shade under 9 inches wide and has the most responsive snappy return of energy of any board I own. No concave, although at only 9 inches I have no problem feeling the edges of the board with my front foot. I keep the balls of my back foot centered on the board 'cuz that is how it likes to be ridden. I just keep Pumpkin it!

Pumpkin is a fine company as is Indiana etc.. but they tend to cater the classic/Euro style drcks.. If they would widen them a tad their market share would increase.. Solid built decks
